I love texture. It's a great way to enhance a plain picture.
For this project I used a plain white 8" x 11" canvas, 3D paint and a star fish.
The colors are creamy off white, light blue and dark blue.

Here is where I first started the dots.

I filled in the dots and left it blank were the starfish would be.

The star fish was glued down with a hot glue gun.
Although I enjoyed this project, it took a bit longer than anticipated. I probably spent about 2 to 3 hours creating the dots.

I continued the dots a bit over the edge of the canvas.
Close up the dots almost remind me of water droplets.

I love this. I've been trying to figure out what to do with some canvas art in my dining room. 3D art has crossed my mind but I wasn't sure how it'd turn out. Now you've got me thinking again!
ReplyDeleteI just started a new blog. I hope you'll stop by!
Thanks!

Simply gorgeous, and so easy, I love it:)
ReplyDeleteLove the texture. I just used a canvas for a piece to go over my powder bath door. I always thought you had to frame a canvas to display it.
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful! I really love it!

Wow! Love the details of this...It really looks professional, like something you'd buy at The Home Store...While star fish are not my thing...I'm sure I could fine something else to create something similar. Thanks for the idea...

ReplyDeleteOkay, so are you super experienced with puffy paints. I think the brand I have is not as "clean" and my dots won't look nearly as nice. Do you have a preferred brand?
